- Since inception, more than 113,000 people have been transitioned from institutional settings to community-based care under the MFP Demonstration.
FIM Opportunities
Effective January 1, 2022, CMS expanded the definition of Money Follows the Person (MFP) “supplemental services” from one-time services to support an MFP participant’s transition to short-term services to support an MFP participant’s transition that are otherwise not allowable under the Medicaid program.
Under this expanded definition, MFP grant recipients are permitted to cover services such as food pantry stocking for up to a 30-day period for MFP participants.
Further, CMS announced that these services are 100% federally funded under the grant, with no state share.
