Get Active! Park, Trail, and Greenway Infrastructure Interventions Increase Physical Activity

Physical activity is one of the best things people can do to improve their health. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommends in the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans that people of all ages and abilities engage in regular physical activity. This spring, the Community Preventive Services Task Force (CPSTF) issued a recommendation for park, trail, and greenway infrastructure interventions used in combination with additional interventions, such as structured programs or community awareness, to increase physical activity.

DGA Call for Committee Nominations for 2025 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee

The deadline to submit a nomination for the 2025 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee is this Friday, July 15 at 11:59 p.m. E.T. The role of the Committee is to review the current body of nutrition science and develop a scientific report to help inform the next edition of Dietary Guidelines for Americans. To inform the expertise needed on the Committee, HHS and USDA provided an overview of the scientific topics and health outcomes that the Committee will be asked to address. Scientists with expertise in nutrition and health who meet the selection criteria are highly encouraged to nominate themselves to serve on the Committee.
