Between October 18–21, this website will move to a new web address (from health.gov to odphp.health.gov). During that time, some functions might not work as expected. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we’re working to make this transition as smooth as possible.

ODPHP’s MyHealthfinder Tool Recognized with a 2023 ClearMark Award

MyHealthfinder Take Good Care

ODPHP is pleased to announce that the MyHealthfinder preventive services tool is a 2023 Clearmark Award winner! The Center for Plain Language ClearMark Awards recognize the best in plain-language communications—in English, French, and Spanish—from government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private companies in North America. This year they recognized the MyHealthfinder microsite redesign within the “Best Before & After – Digital” category noting that the “judges enjoyed the usability of this tool, and its clear focus on providing actionable information.”

ODPHP redesigned MyHealthfinder in preparation for Take Good Care, an ODPHP campaign encouraging Black and Hispanic women ages 45 to 54 to use the MyHealthfinder assessment tool to learn which clinical preventive services they may need. Informed by previous consumer user testing of the MyHealthfinder microsite, the redesign improved the content and layout of the MyHealthfinder assessment results page, making it more personalized, clear, and actionable.

Preventive health care — like routine checkups, vaccines, and screenings — is one of the best tools we have to improve health. The MyHealthfinder microsite provides easy-to-understand information on preventive health care with over 100 plain language health and wellness topics and tools in English and Spanish. It also includes an assessment tool that provides users tailored recommendations for clinical preventive services based on age, sex, and pregnancy status. Organizations can even use ODPHP’s APIs (application programming interfaces) to seamlessly add MyHealthfinder content to their website — and help share evidence-based health information with people who need it most – or to create a unique tool supported by plain language health content.
