STORY FROM THE FIELD: 40 Years of Increasing Access to Health Services through Mobile Health in Tucson, AZ

A new story on access to health services from Healthy People 2020’s Who’s Leading the Leading Health Indicators? monthly bulletin shows how the Mobile Health Program in Pima County, Arizona, empowers undeserved communities by developing sustainable systems that increase access to health promotion, disease prevention, and health care services. Through a Mobile Health Clinic—a doctor’s office and clinic on wheels—the program provides approximately 2,500 patient services each year, including physicals, immunizations, well woman checks, pap smears, prenatal and birth care, dental screenings for children, diabetes education, and minor procedures.
