In this Cochrane systematic review, the Cochrane Collaborative found that sending reminders to people being treated for tuberculosis (TB) increased the number of people who attended appointments and completed treatment. These interventions include strategies like pre-appointment reminder phone calls and follow-up calls after a missed appointment. In addition, researchers found that people taking medicine to prevent TB were more likely to attend clinic visits if they got pre-appointment phone calls.
