Baseline: 15.4 per 1,000 adults aged 45 years and over had visual impairment due to glaucoma in 2023

Target-setting method justification
Trend data were evaluated for this objective, but it was not possible to project a target because the projections were not statistically significant improvements from the baseline. The standard error was used to calculate a target based on minimal statistical significance, assuming the same standard error for the target as for the baseline. This method was used because it was a statistically significant improvement from the baseline.

Have you lost any vision because of glaucoma?

Due to 2019 NHIS redesign, 2023 data were not directly comparable with 2017 baseline and earlier years.
Revision History
Revised. 

The baseline was revised from 13.2 per 1,000 adults aged 45 years and over in 2017 to 15.4 per 1,000 in 2023. The target was revised from 10.6 to 12.5 per 1,000 using the original target setting method.
