The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends screening for chlamydia and gonorrhea in sexually active women age 24 years or younger. In sexually active women age 25 years or older, USPSTF recommends screening only if there’s an increased risk of infection. USPSTF found insufficient evidence to assess whether the benefits of screening for chlamydia and gonorrhea in sexually active men outweigh the harms.
