About this resource:

Systematic Review

Source: The Cochrane Collaborative

Last Reviewed: October 2002

The review included studies that compared self-management education with usual care in children and adolescents ages 2 to 18 years. Researchers found that self-management education also reduces school absences, days of limited activity, and emergency room visits.
