In this Cochrane systematic review, the Cochrane Collaborative didn’t find enough evidence to determine whether magnesium is helpful or harmful for preventing or treating alcohol withdrawal syndrome. Researchers concluded that more research is needed to clarify the role of magnesium in preventing and treating alcohol withdrawal.
