This report includes recommendations on specific contraceptive methods for people with certain characteristics or medical conditions. The recommendations are meant to help health care providers counsel women, men, and couples about choosing a type of birth control. Updates in the report include guidance for:
- Women with cystic fibrosis
- Women with multiple sclerosis
- Women using certain psychotropic drugs or St. John’s wort
In addition, there were revisions to recommendations for emergency contraception and revisions recommendations for women with a variety of diseases and conditions.
