Vegetables are recommended as a key part of a healthy diet, and eating vegetables is linked to a lower risk for many diseases. But most people in the United States don’t eat enough vegetables. Evidence suggests that nutrition counseling, school- and workplace-based programs that use more than 1 strategy, and school nutrition policies can help people eat more vegetables.
