Summary

People who are around loud sounds are at risk for noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL). Loud noises are common in many industries, and NIHL is the second most commonly reported workplace injury. Enforcing stricter noise regulations and requiring employees to use hearing protection devices, like earplugs and earmuffs, can help reduce NIHL.
