The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends screening all adults ages 45 to 75 years for colorectal cancer. USPSTF notes that the risks and benefits of different types of screening tests vary. 

For adults ages 76 to 85 years, USPSTF recommends individualizing the decision to screen for colorectal cancer based on a person’s overall health, history of screening, and preferences.
