Reduce the rate of primary and secondary syphilis in men who have sex with men
Summary
Syphilis rates in men who have sex with men are higher than in other groups. Untreated syphilis can cause brain and eye problems, and having syphilis makes it more likely that people will get and transmit HIV. Condom use, screening, and early treatment of people with syphilis and their sexual partners can reduce syphilis rates.
