Methodology notes
Males are considered to have used a condom at last intercourse with a female partner if they reported they were sexually active (had sex in the last 3 months) and used a condom at their last intercourse.
History
In 2026, following a redesign of the NSFG survey, the baseline for this objective was revised from 67.7% as reported in 2015-2017 to 48.2% as reported in 2022-2023. Using the original target-setting method, the target was also updated from 81.3% to 66.3%.
