Between October 18–21, this website will move to a new web address (from health.gov to odphp.health.gov). During that time, some functions might not work as expected. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we’re working to make this transition as smooth as possible.

Meg Ham
Food Retailer and Executive

Meg Ham was appointed as a member of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition on March 24, 2023, for a 2-year term.

As President of Food Lion, Ham leads 82,000 associates dedicated to providing fresh, healthy, and affordable food to approximately 10 million customers each week across 10 Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic states. During her more than 30-year tenure at Food Lion’s parent company, Ahold Delhaize USA, Ham has served in executive leadership roles in both retail operations and merchandising functions at Food Lion and its sister banner, Hannaford — and at the helm of Bottom Dollar Food, the company’s former discount banner. Ham has built her career as a food retailer focused on the value of service to customers and associates. Being part of the community a company serves is a driving force for Ham. Since 2014, Food Lion Feeds, the company’s hunger-relief platform, has donated more than 1 billion meals to neighbors experiencing food insecurity across Food Lion’s 10-state operating footprint.

Ham has been recognized locally and nationally for her contributions to Food Lion and the grocery industry. She was named a 2022 Most Admired CEO by the Charlotte Business Journal and received the 2015 Top Women in Grocery Trailblazer Award. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Marketing from Cornell University, where she served as the captain of the swimming and diving team.
