Rayhaan Merani was appointed Executive Director of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition on October 8, 2023. 

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Merani served as Associate Director of Presidential Scheduling at the White House, where he coordinated President Biden’s daily engagements, events, and meetings and led planning efforts across domestic and international teams to build the President’s trips — including to global summits such as the G7, G20, NATO, and ASEAN, as well as the U.N. General Assembly. Previously, Mr. Merani worked on Capitol Hill as Director of Scheduling for Senator John Hickenlooper (D-CO), and before that he served as Director of Scheduling & Advance for Senator Hickenlooper’s campaign. 

Mr. Merani is an Ismaili Muslim and credits his community for fostering his interest in sports, youth development, and service. He is still actively engaged within the community, currently serving as a board member for college engagement for the Aga Khan Youth and Sports Board for the United States, which manages social governance of the Ismaili community. 

Originally from India, Mr. Merani grew up in Lawrenceville, GA, and now lives in Washington, DC.
