The Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020–2025, provides nutrition guidance for people across the lifespan. Every 5 years, a new edition that reflects the current body of nutrition science is released. The Dietary Guidelines forms the basis of federal nutrition policy and programs and helps guide local, state, and national health promotion and disease prevention initiatives.
