Healthy People, Social Determinants of Health, and Health Equity Featured in Podcast with ODPHP's Carter Blakey

The Journal of Public Health Management and Practice (JPHMP) released a Healthy People 2030 (HP2030) Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) and Health Equity (HE) podcast featuring Carter Blakey and Cynthia Gomez. The podcast complements JPHMP’s article entitled "Addressing Health Equity and Social Determinants of Health Through Healthy People 2030". The podcast highlights HP2030 and the roles SDOH and HE play toward achieving our nation’s health goals: the Healthy People initiative’s focus on health disparities and health equity across the decades, the need for systems approaches to eliminate health disparities and achieve health equity, the role various sectors play toward addressing health equity, how Covid-19 has highlighted the impact that root causes of health inequities have on health disparities, and the impact achieving health equity can have on our communities and on our country as a whole.
