ODPHP’s Dr. Katrina Piercy Appears on Public Health Review Morning Edition to Celebrate Older Americans Month

Each May, Older Americans Month — led by the Administration for Community Living — celebrates the contributions of older adults and reaffirms commitments to serving the older adults in our communities. This year’s theme, “Powered by Connection,” recognizes the impact that meaningful relationships and social connections have on our health and well-being.

Recently, Dr. Katrina Piercy, Director of the Division of Prevention Science at the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP), appeared on the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials news, announcements, and public health initiatives newscast Public Health Review Morning Edition to discuss the significance of Older Americans Month, and how professionals supporting older adults can implement strategies in the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans Midcourse Report: Implementation Strategies for Older Adults to help older adults find enjoyable and sustainable ways to build physical activity into their lives.
