Members of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition will host a Thanksgiving-themed “Feast & Fitness” webinar on Monday, November 13, at 6pm ET.

Developed with the cooperation of Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, the event will feature tips and recommendations on how viewers can eat healthy and stay active during the busy holiday season. Council members and professional chefs Mike Solomonov and Jose Garces will provide a cooking demonstration during which they will prepare three nutritious and savory dishes including brussels sprouts, sweet corn humitas – a seasoned corn pudding – and candied pecans. Fellow Council member and chef Ben Jacobs, a member of the Osage Nation, will discuss Native American Heritage Month and ingredients popular among the nation’s Indigenous communities.

The event will conclude with Dr. Oluwaferanmi Oyedeji Okanlami introducing a montage video featuring additional Council members and the many ways they choose to stay physically active in their own lives. Viewers will also have an opportunity to interact directly with Council members via a moderated live chat.

Members of the public can register for the webinar in advance. Follow the President’s Council at @FitnessGov on Twitter for more details. To access the featured recipes and grocery list, please use the link below.
