Given the amount of health content — including misinformation — on the web, it’s important to help readers identify quality health information. Create quality guidelines for your site and publish them — for example, by including a link in the footer of the site. Include things like your editorial review policies, conflicts of interest, policy on sponsored content and advertising, AI practices and guidelines, and your general commitment to accuracy.
At the individual topic or page level, consider including information like:
- Date last updated
- Date last reviewed
- Name of author and reviewer (if content was reviewed by a subject matter expert)
- Information sources or citations
- Whether any of the content or images were generated by AI (read more about AI)
