National Health Observances Criteria

1. The event must be supported by a U.S. Government agency. Support must include visible recognition on an official government website.

2. There must be a promotional toolkit with accessible materials for health educators, public health program planners, and others who wish to promote the event. These should be available online and free to use.

3. The agency must either have a designated contact person to answer questions and fulfill requests for promotional materials or have sufficient online guidance for use of the promotional materials.

4. The event must be prevention-related and support either a Healthy People 2030 topic area or a recommendation from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force.
