Support Older Americans Month with our Resources!

May is Older Americans Month — a great time to highlight ways to support our nation’s growing older adult population. ODPHP offers a variety of resources to support your healthy aging work

Start by exploring Healthy People 2030’s healthy aging resources. Check out Healthy People 2030 and Older Adults for an overview of resources specific to older adults: View Healthy People 2030 objectives, use the objective search feature to find data for older adults, browse the Healthy Aging Custom List, learn about the impact of everyday factors like income and access to health care, and find evidence-based resources to support healthy aging work.

We also know that physical activity is a key component in helping people stay healthy as they age — and it’s never too late to start. Use our Move Your Way® Materials for Older Adults to encourage older adults in your community to get active. You can also check out the Physical Activity Guidelines Midcourse Report with implementation strategies to help older adults get active and share this link to the Move Your Way website with your older adult audiences.

Finally, MyHealthfinder offers clear health information you can share to help older adults take care of their health — like Protect Your Health as You Grow Older, Stay Active as You Get Older: Quick Tips, and Lower Your Risk of Falling. You can also share this resource to help your audiences Find and Access Preventive Services

We hope you’ll find these resources helpful. Thank you for working to improve health and well-being for older adults in your community!
