About the Healthy People 2020 End of Decade Snapshot
The report Healthy People 2020: An End of Decade Snapshot [PDF - 2.4 MB] provides an overview of progress made over the decade in meeting the Healthy People 2020 objective targets.
This high-level summary covers national and population-level progress toward target attainment — showing variation by race and ethnicity, family income, and other factors. Individuals, organizations, and communities committed to improving health and well-being can leverage this information to focus their efforts in the current decade. The report also provides a detailed assessment of the Healthy People 2020 Leading Health Indicators (LHIs), a subset of objectives that identify high-priority health issues.
About the Healthy People 2020 Final Review
At the end of the decade, the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) released the Healthy People 2020 Final Review, which provides a quantitative assessment of the nation’s progress toward achieving the Healthy People 2020 objectives and goals over the course of the decade.
The Healthy People 2020 Final Review consists of a series of web-based products that display the final progress status for measurable objectives and select population groups, as well as an evaluation of changes in health disparities over the decade. Findings from the Healthy People 2020 Final Review are useful for identifying not only successes from the last decade but also areas to focus action for Healthy People 2030.
