This webinar will take place on Wednesday, August 24 from 1:00 to 2:00 EDT. The webinar will provide an overview of the research that supports the inclusion of civic engagement as a social determinant of health and related Healthy People 2030 objectives.

Healthy People 2030 has an increased and overarching focus on social determinants of health (SDOH). In line with this focus, we provide literature summaries that offer a snapshot of the latest research related to SDOH. These summaries explore a range of key factors — such as discrimination, social cohesion, access to health services, and poverty — and examine how these issues can impact health outcomes and health disparities. We’ve updated all of the summaries, which are now available!

On Thursday, June 22nd the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP) and the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) hosted the second installment of the Healthy People 2030 Webinar Series, Leveraging Healthy People 2030 to Address Issues Affecting Children, Mothers, and Families. In addition to presentations from NCHS and ODPHP leadership, the Oklahoma Perinatal Quality Improvement Collaborative offered insight into how their state is addressing the Healthy People 2030 Leading Health Indicator on maternal mortality.
